In the heart of Tigray, our beloved churches and monasteries stand as symbols of faith, hope, and tradition. Yet, recent events have shaken the core of these sanctuaries. A dearth of clergy, combined with the heartbreaking events unfolding in Tigray, has silenced many of our places of worship, leaving a void in the lives of countless believers.

The Crisis

The turbulent times have seen many of our revered Felege Hiwot (Abinet) — the esteemed church fathers responsible for imparting spiritual education to our young ones — displaced and disheartened. Sacred spaces lie in ruins, and many churches have ceased services altogether, leaving their congregations spiritually stranded.

Our Intervention

We believe in resilience and revival. Our solutions lie in rejuvenating the Felege Hiwot (Abinet) schools — the very cradle of our future church leaders. By supporting and ensuring these schools have the resources they need, we hope to see our churches vibrant and alive once more. Moreover, we aim to stabilize the lives of our church fathers and their students by addressing their fundamental needs.

Your Role

Become a beacon of hope. By sponsoring a student with just $25 a month, you provide them with essential provisions like food, books, and housing. Your contribution not only sustains their physical well-being but also fuels their spiritual journey.

Our Ultimate Vision

With your support, we aim to breathe life into the Felege Hiwot (Abinet) schools across Tigray, transforming them into centers of spirituality and excellence. Our ultimate goal is to ensure the Orthodox Church in Tigray thrives, led by spiritual fathers guiding their flock towards eternal salvation.

Our Progress

Thanks to generous hearts like yours, our mission continues to grow and touch more lives. So far, we have contributed nearly 10 million birr in support — with close to 4 million birr in 2025 alone — bringing hope and stability to those in need.

Supporting 50 students at Kuiha St. Mary Kine (Philosophy) and the New Testament School — covering lodging and meals.
Monthly support to 20 students and teachers at Kidus Yared Felege Hiwot in Axum Tsion.
50 students and teachers are also getting support at Abraha WeAtsbiha Gedam near Adigrat.
Consistent support to the Western Tigray displaced Kahinat Gubea community in Axum.
32 students at Mai Anbesa Mahitsente Mariam Comprehensive School received two years of food support. The school is currently vetting new students and has sought our continued assistance.
Three Felege Hiwots in Maychew continue to receive monthly food support and educational materials.
One-time emergency support extended to Debre Damo Gedam and Agbe Kidnemehiret Gedam.
In 2025, we began supporting a devoted spiritual teacher in Maichew — a graduate of a Felege Hiwot program — who leads Sunday School, ማይ ፀሎት, and ፅዋዕ ማሕበር, and mentors current students as future teachers and preachers.
Sponsoring multiple rounds of special training for Felege Hiwot students and teachers.
Planning sustainable, income-generating initiatives to ensure long-term stability for the Felege Hiwots.
